Skills, plugins, and MCPs
Open Skills & plugins in hansard app or hansard web to see the current
device’s provider capabilities. The page scans local skill directories,
supported installed-plugin registries, MCP configuration files, and supported
connector declarations.
Plugins are separate entries, including bundles that contain only hooks, commands, rules, or other components. Bundled skills and MCP servers retain their individual entries. Plugin entries show allowlisted metadata inline, including version, component types, and local source availability; plugin code and configuration values are not displayed or executed.
Filter by provider or kind and search names and descriptions. Source files
and scopes appear inline. Entries with the same name and type
appear together with all matching provider labels. Each provider configuration
retains its own source, status, and scope; a shared name does not establish
identical contents. Filters apply to individual configurations within a group.
Choose Read skill within a provider copy to read its current SKILL.md or
an explicitly inventoried flat .md skill file. UTF-8 text up to 1 MiB loads
on demand and cannot be edited in the viewer. Project discovery uses known
local working directories and configured projects.
Provider coverage notes appear inline with the inventory.
Provider coverage
Section titled “Provider coverage”| Provider | Local discovery and limits |
|---|---|
| Codex | Skills, MCP configuration, installed plugins, and connector references declared in plugin .app.json files. A connector reference does not establish account access or an active connection. |
| Claude Code | Skills, MCP configuration, installed registrations, and skills-directory plugins. Project approval and managed policy are not evaluated. |
| Claude Desktop | Local MCP configuration, installed MCPB/DXT desktop extensions, and the generated Cowork skill bundle with its explicitly registered skill copies. Other Cowork plugin registrations remain unsupported. |
| GitHub Copilot | CLI skills, MCP configuration, and installed CLI plugins. Unresolved declarations remain references; IDE extensions and built-in servers are not inspected. |
| Antigravity | Desktop and CLI skill stores, including flat Markdown skills, local plugins, and supported project directories. Runtime plugin enablement is not evaluated. |
| OpenCode | Skills, MCP configuration, declared plugin targets and local plugins. Package locations and effective runtime enablement may remain unresolved. Remote configuration is not fetched. |
| Factory | Local and project skills, MCP configuration, and declared plugins. Plugin installation locations, contents, and organization policy remain unresolved. |
| Grok Build | Local MCP configuration and native or compatible skills. Plugin registries and custom skill paths are unsupported. |
| Devin and Windsurf | Supported local skill and MCP configuration files. Cloud skill catalogs are not fetched. |
| Cursor and Gemini CLI | Read-only discovery of supported skill and MCP configuration files; neither legacy CLI is launched. |
Providers with no discovered entries are hidden from the page and filters. An absent provider or a zero count does not imply that it has no resources. Other provider stores and cloud account catalogs are not inspected. Unregistered marketplace caches are not treated as installed plugins. Commands, agents, hooks, and rules appear as plugin component types; standalone command, agent, and rule files are not separate entries.
Refresh the inventory
Section titled “Refresh the inventory”The latest snapshot appears immediately. Opening the local page refreshes an absent or stale snapshot in a background process; Scan now requests a scan explicitly. The watcher also checks on its 15-minute memory backup cycle. Source reads have a two-second deadline; unavailable sources are listed as warnings while the scan continues. The timestamp records the latest completed scan. A failed scan preserves the previous snapshot and displays an error.
Each successful scan replaces the previous inventory, including removing entries no longer present. This device snapshot is separate from the conversation and memory archives: it is not synchronized and does not retain historical skill or configuration contents. No reimport is required.
Interpret the results
Section titled “Interpret the results”Configured and Disabled report configuration state. They do not verify that a skill is loaded in a particular session or that an MCP connection is healthy. Connector status describes a local declaration, not authentication, permissions, or cloud account access. Scans read local files without launching provider CLIs or connecting to servers. Cloud-only capabilities are not inferred from conversation usage.
Compatible identifies a Grok Build or OpenCode skill discovered in a Claude or shared skill directory. These entries require provider-specific local configuration to be present. A compatible directory alone does not establish that the provider is configured on the device.
The inventory excludes MCP launch arguments, environment values, headers, and endpoint URLs. Remote and read-only viewers can inspect an existing snapshot but cannot trigger a scan of the host’s current configuration. Reading live skill text is available in local viewers, including read-only mode. Remote viewers display inventory metadata only.
