Download Hansard
The standalone macOS app includes everything needed to browse and import local agent history. Node.js, npm, and developer tools are not required. Installation uses a disk image downloaded from this website.
Public downloads will appear here once the signed release is available. The CLI and browser viewer are available now through the installation guide.
Install the app
Section titled “Install the app”- Download the installer for the Mac’s processor. Apple menu → About This Mac shows an Apple chip or an Intel processor.
- Open the
.dmgfile and drag Hansard into Applications. - Open Hansard from Applications, then eject the disk image.
- Review the detected sources and archive space estimate, choose the history to import, and finish setup. Background archiving is optional.
Existing Hansard installations open the same local archive. First launch does not require a Hansard account or cloud storage. macOS may request permission to read selected local history folders.
Also available through the CLI
Section titled “Also available through the CLI”The npm package supplies the CLI and browser viewer. On macOS, hansard app
opens the installed native app or installs it from the published desktop release
when available. hansard app install explicitly installs or updates the app.
hansard web opens the local browser viewer on supported CLI platforms.

Update the app
Section titled “Update the app”Quit Hansard before replacing it with a newer download in Applications. The local archive and settings are stored separately from the application. Desktop updates replace the complete app; npm updates apply to the separately installed CLI.
